Oh My! TAHO Boy!

Taho (or soya beancurd pudding) is one of my favourites morning breakfast or snack when i was growing up. A seller usually peddles the food around the neighborhood in the morning and my mum or I would call him to buy a 5-peso worth of this sweet goodness. This is best eaten hot especially on a cold morning.

Recently, my sister and I have seen quite a number of Taho stalls around the shopping malls in the city. We have tried once and we definitely fell in love with us just as the way we loved it since we were kids. The taste is quite the same with its soft and smooth soya curd. The tapioca was made a bit bigger than the usual "sago" being mixed with the neighborhood version and the sugar syrup is thicker and less sweet which is good i think for those who are conscious of the calorie content.
The packaging is a great idea because it will be sealed before it is given to the customers. A big straw comes with it instead of the usual spoon.

(I apologise for the quality of the photo as I only used my phone camera)

I think i will be savouring this "taho" for quite sometime whilst I am here and I am glad that i will be able to buy this anytime i crave for it.

I have seen Taho Boy stalls around SM Supermalls but I know there are many around other locations in the city.

Max's chicken all you can

Even before we flew back home, Paolo and I have agreed to try the Max's Chicken All you Can Eat promo. For Filipinos, Max's restaurant has been a household name for fried chicken and other local favourites. People flock to this restaurant to have a really good taste of their food and so when they introduced this marketing strategy to all, it was MADNESS!!! People queued from 6pm until 10pm to grab this opportunity to savour their best-seller! Who would resist this? For only about 5$ you can devour as much fried chicken as you can, no questions asked!

My husband's really a chicken lover, he does not get tired of its taste, whatever way it is cooked! So we were lucky enough to be around the area early on a weeknight, so we didn't have to line up. We were accommodated after 5 minutes of waiting. Paolo and I were with my sister and 3 other niece and nephews. My sister and I didn't take the challenge :) I love chicken but i know my limitations!

After several rounds, my niece and nephews finished with 1 whole chicken each and Paolo devouring 2 whole chicken!:) I know he can do better but I was already staring at him telling him to stop. It was a really good experience and we were both happy that we have tried it this time.
